Jollyboat US 121

12.13.08

This 18’ Jollyboat is a classic British racing dingy designed by Uffa Fox in 1950. #121 was built in 1958. Hot-molded plywood hull has no noticeable warpage, & is reasonably sound. Servicable spars & trailer (needs bearing service & tires) incl.; sails rudder & centerboard incl. but need replacement. Successfully campaigned in Marblehead from 1968-1974 winning one race in the '74 Nationals in Rochester, NY, taking a third place in a race at the 1970 Nationals in Marblehead. Won the Oliver P. Morton trophy in the High Performance Class at the 1974 Marblehead Chowder Race. A beautiful, fast, exciting sailer; planes easily in a breeze and is equipped with a trapeze. Needs a younger owner living by the water; definitely a project to make seaworthy, but this a thoroughbred design & is a blast to sail.
